Itsounds like one of the common failure modes is just the flap position sensor. My guess is that when we get P2015 intermittently without notable symptoms, it's the position sensor getting flaky.

Theheadlights, turn signals, Heater and back hatch switch won't work but, the flashers work. Also windows keep rolling down by their self. . #1. Hello all, The dealer has just informed me that my abs module in my 2009 gti needs replaced and will cost 1100 dollars. THis is apparently causing my whole instrument cluster to go haywire as well. I was wondering in the meantime while i order the part if i pull the fuse for the abs module if it would set the instrument Realistically you aren't going to have much more issues then you would with a GTI - except the Haldex. If you maintain it according to what is recommended, and doing the service PROPERLY, it will be fine. I've done my haldex at 34k (when I bought the car) and just now at 55K (pre big 60k).
