Rapid Spaceback models get a five-speed manual gearbox with a rewardingly positive shift. The more powerful 1.2 TSI gets a six-speed gearbox, so it’s quieter and more relaxed at speed. If you are covering lots of miles the TDI diesels make sense. Sadly they’re not very refined and are pretty noisy.
