I can get right now a 3 Fan Gigabyte RTX 3060ti with 8Gb of VRAM for 490€. A GigaByte 12Gb 3 Fan 3060 for 400€. During Christmas, the GigaByte 3070 came down to 520€ (is 630€ right now). Therefore, I have no idea if I should wait on the 3070 to come back down during Easter (or when a new discount pops by) or wait for the 4060/4070.
It's basically a 2060S in perf with 12GB for cheaper than 2060S price. Not great, but not horrible, we've had worse. The sad thing is the 3070 which is much faster, is 8GB. 3070 and 3080 in particular could use the extra vram, whereas 3060 is too slow to benefit from 12GB. The RTX 3060 shouldn't be more than $400 + tax. That’s almost as much as a 3080…. So no. The 3080 is around $2000 here As a 3080 should be. The RTX 3060 is cheaper than the 3060 Ti, but the 3060 Ti’s better performance outweighs this. The Ti’s GA104 GPU is simply too far ahead of the 3060’s GA106 GPU for the 3060 to be worth it.
